Overview

The Floor Technician is responsible for the overall floor maintenance of hard surface and carpet (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, stripping, waxing, buffing, burnishing, shampooing, extraction, & bonneting) areas that include offices, classrooms, lobbies, entrances/exits, stairwells, hallways, and other public areas. The Floor Technician should perform all assigned tasks in close partnership and professionalism with customers, co-workers and supervision, to improve the overall appearance of assigned facilities presenting a clean environment to visitors and employees. The Floor Technician will not be responsible for moving furniture, or removing computer, telephone or other devices' wires/cords, books, papers or other objects off floor in area(s) to be cleaned. The services provided shall ensure quality work in accordance with company and government policies.

Responsibilities

• Follows all safety requirements and procedures at all times as much as possible to maintain a safe work environment.

• Use appropriate and various types of provided cleaning floor equipment and materials, which entails transporting, delivery, maintenance (if applicable) and inventory

• control of all equipment and materials provided for classification compliance.

• Performs preventative maintenance check on all equipment prior to use at beginning and end of the shift.

• Handles floor care, including sweeping, vacuuming, mopping (dry and damp).

• Provides floor maintenance such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, shampooing, stripping, waxing, buffing and burnishing on hard surface, bonneting and extracting

• carpets; including but not limited to stairwells.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Good communication and people skills.

• Basic computer skills required.

• Cleaning, janitorial, housekeeping, time management and organization.
