Vectrus Senior LAN Administrator - Secret Clearance in Ankara, Turkey

Overview

The Senior LAN Administrator shall be the subject matter expert for all local NIPR and SIPR enterprise system issues. Lead a team of LAN Administrators responsible to create and/or manage trouble tickets, monitor status, and report outages to INOSC Operations. LAN Administrators work in a team environment on routine maintenance tasks as well as provide customers with solutions to more complex issues. LAN administrators troubleshoot network problems, outages, anomalies as required.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and direct daily operations for the LAN Administrator shop.

  • Process all Tier 2 level operational issues for the networks; resolve customer issue if Help Desk/CST or Tier 1 Support cannot resolve

  • Assign Remedy tickets in queue based on in scope/out of scope, Tier 1/Tier 2 support daily. Ensure PWS compliance for responding to tickets/customer service

  • Function as the Network subject matter expert; provide technical advice to the client base regarding software/hardware capabilities, issues, and potential solutions.

  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures for LAN Administrator processes.

  • Perform Client Support Administration (CSA) responsibilities in accordance with Air Force directives.

  • Operate and maintain all aspects of server administration to include but is not limited to Microsoft 200X Active Directory, WINS, DNS, DHCP, print queues etc.

  • Create customer network accounts and maintain administrative documentation.

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of network related equipment.

  • Implement Notices to Airmen (NOTAM), Time Compliance Network Orders (TCNO), and Maintenance Tasking Order (MTO), Authorized Service Interruption (ASI).

  • Perform backup and data recovery operations.

  • Maintain and update Network Diagrams.

  • Configure iPhone devices for the integration with the iPhone server and the Enterprise.

  • Perform technical analysis of new hardware devices and make recommendations to stakeholders for integrating devices into the server and network environment.

  • Maintain daily contact with the Program Management chain and Government personnel to assist in the timely resolution of technical problems and to execute the operational functions that require their personal attention

  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required

  • BS/BA in Computer Science or directly related field (e.g. Information Systems, Information Technology). One year of experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

  • A minimum of three (3) years' (falling within the last 6 years) active U.S. military or U.S. military affiliated service experience in the Information Technology field performing operations and/or maintenance of electronic equipment.

  • Knowledge of and experience with U.S. DOD military mission, structure, doctrine, technical standards and specifications, and security requirements.

  • Certifications

  • This position requires DoDI 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification and corresponding Computing Environment certification.

  • Must have the following: Security+. A CCNA/CCNP that have been obtained in the last 24 months is desired.

  • Previous VoIP experience required.

  • Experience

  • Knowledge of and experience with U.S. DOD military mission, structure, doctrine, technical standards and specifications, and security requirements.

  • Experience in system administration, including system maintenance, workstation support, internet connectivity, load monitoring, security, protocols, knowledge of LAN/WAN networking, servers, operating systems, and applications.

  • Must have experience leading and training teams in technical departments.

  • Skills

  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking the English language to include the ability to comprehend and interpret electronic and technical data, schematics and diagrams in accordance with American National Standards Institute (ANSI) format and U.S. Military Standards. Familiar with MS Office programs.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, customer service skills and work independently and collaboratively

  • Work with minimal supervision and have the ability to prioritize taskings.

  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills, team players able to provide technical leadership in LAN Administrator group

  • Supervisory/Budget Responsibilities

  • Direct supervision of team of LAN administrators. Leads perform technical tasks and also provide administrative oversight, work direction, and coaching to direct reports. Assigns project priorities when in question and ensures work teams are organized. Maintains liaison with other organizations to ensure quality of service and to resolve technical and operational difficulties. Enforces conformance with prescribed quality, security and safety standards. Enforces maintenance and repair policies for completing equipment repair by all assigned maintenance activities. Inspects maintenance activities and support functions to determine operational status and solve maintenance problems. Reviews inspection findings and recommends corrective actions. Evaluates requirements for tools, vehicles and equipment. Analyzes maintenance data collection reports for unfavorable trends or conditions. Responsible for ensuring that site and work centers physical security, including key control is being performed properly.

  • Other Requirements

  • Work is 60% in office and 40% physical on equipment work at various locations on location. Work will include but is not limited to account creation, client terminal configuration, network documentation and diagrams, network cable installation, switch/router configuration, LAN/WAN troubleshooting, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, Network monitoring, management and administration of network devices. Required to work to perform on call duties.

  • Work will require continuous walking, prolong standing, sitting, bending, and climbing stairs. Regular housekeeping duties and lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.
