Assigned to support the 82 nd Combat Aviation Brigade (CAB), the Warehouse Specialist (SSA) is responsible for a variety of warehousing duties included, but not limited to, verifying materials or merchandise against receiving documents; receives, stores, stacks, or palletizes materials, and removes material from storage and prepares it for shipping; supports wholesale supply chain functions to include: receiving and processing incoming assets from various supply sources, storage, inventory, packing, packaging, transportation, repair cycle support, cargo movement/planning, and demilitarization of equipment/parts prior to disposal action. Locates and moves materials and parts between work areas of plant to expedite processing of goods according to predetermined schedules and priorities and keeps related record and work orders to determine types, quantities, and availability of required material and priorities of customer orders. Confers with department supervisors to determine materials overdue and to inform them of location, availability, and condition of materials, locates and moves materials to specified production areas, using cart or hand truck, and records quantity and type of materials distributed and on hand. Must be prepared to perform other duties as assigned by the Supply Support Activity (SSA) Supervisor in order to meet organizational/operational objectives.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

  • Work with the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army) to receive, issue and storage of class II, IV and IX repair parts.

  • Able to work any section in the Supply Support Activity (SSA) except Shipping and Receiving section.

  • Locates information on issue documents (MRO) and compares information on documents with parts being pull or put-a-ways.

  • Selects stock in the quantities indicated by the document: reports location discrepancies, shortages, and damages to designated leadership..

  • Receive turn-ins of items, inspect item conditions, and verify material numbers, nomenclature, quantity, and process of disposition.

  • Sign documents confirming receipt of items.

  • Receives incoming shipments and assists in unloading vehicles at loading ramp.

  • Inspects for damages, check items received against shipping documents and sign receipts as appropriate.

  • Unpacks or uncrates incoming shipments as required and inspect for internal damage or missing components.

  • Stocks warehouse according to assigned locations, restocks, and relocate items keeping the repair parts organized.

  • Operates Material Handling Equipment (forklifts) 2,000-6,000lbs.

  • Performs Preventative Maintenance Checks & Services (PMCS) before, during, and after use of forklifts.

  • Must be able to lift at least 50lbs.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:

  • Standard office equipment, associated with computer applications.

  • All required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • Basic maintenance tools and equipment.

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work will typically be in a temperature-controlled office environment, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment.

  • There may be times when an employee is exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions.

  • Employee will be required to conduct some outdoor activities, requiring exposure to hot and cold weather conditions.

    PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

  • Must be able to operate standard office equipment, such as a computer, copy machine and printer.

  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

  • May be required to wear a face mask.

  • Must be able to properly wear all required PPE.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a High School Diploma.

  • GCSS-A certified at the SSA level.

  • Forklift licensed preferred.

  • Must have a valid State Driver’s License with no restrictions.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).

  • Must be able to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship, such as a birth certificate or a U.S. Passport.

  • Must be able to maintain driving privileges aboard the Fort Liberty Installation.

    EXPERIENCE:

  • Five years' experience on supply operations warehouse level.

  • Must have experience and moderate knowledge of governing regulations, policies, procedures and instructions in Supply Procedure.

  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of Supply Support Activity at the tactical and installation level, as well as Army governing regulations, policies and procedures.

  • Ability to oversee the day-to-day logistics, maintenance and transportation activities of a division or brigade sized operation.

  • Above average knowledge of the logistic information polices, process and system that pertain to Maintenance, Supply and Services, and Transportation Services.

  • Knowledge and experience with Logistic Information System, such as Army Enterprise Systems Integration Program (AESIP), Logistic Information Warehouse (LIW), and Federal Logistics Information System (FLIS)/FEDLOG.

  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of Supply Support Activity at the tactical and installation level, as well as Army governing regulations, policies and procedures.

    SKILLS:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access) and SharePoint is required.

  • Must have the ability to work independently and in a team-based, highly collaborative environment.

  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with subordinates, peers and senior personnel.
