Overview

Responsible to the assigned supervisor. Works with other craftsman or crews in the performance of assigned work duties. Coordinates work/inspections with facility managers/occupants. Must be able to troubleshoot and identify problems. Makes job assignments, researches and requisitions materials, and prepares necessary documents and reports. Maintains, installs and repairs all aspects of plumbing systems. Responsible to perform all assigned duties as safely and efficiently as possible to maintain a safe work environment. Responds to emergency repair calls to restore operations upon notice during regular hours or after duty on-call hours.

• Valid State driver’s license required.

• Alabama Journeyman’s license.

• Backflow certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, installs and repairs all aspects of plumbing including, but not limited to, fire suppression, pool operations and maintenance, water, gas, and sanitary/storm sewer systems.

• Accomplishes periodic inspections, recurring maintenance requirements and associated documentation. Maintains systems to conform to written guidance and applicable changes.

• Maintains required operating forms and records and assures proper use and maintenance of all assigned shop equipment.

• Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with contractual, functional and mission requirements.
