Vectrus Food Service Worker Lead in Iraq

Overview

This position is physically located in Iraq in support of LOGCAP

Under supervision to the Food Services Supervisor. The Food Service Worker Lead, will perform various tasks and leadership related to kitchen and dining area operations. The primary responsibilities will include providing oversight for the dining and serving areas by arranging counters, stands, and tables. Ensure the setup of food containers, ensure condiments are cleaned and filled, ensure general cleaning, including floors, equipment, walls, and light fixtures, ensuring a high standard of sanitation and cleanliness. Ensure stored cleaned items and cleaning materials in an organized manner. Ensure food service workers pick up and store non-food items, cleaning solutions, and paper products. Collect, scrape, soak, wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, and utensils. Ensure food service workers dispose of food waste in garbage disposal or trash receptacles. Monitor and provide oversight of manual washing of kitchen items, setup, serve, break down, and replenish serving lines, beverage refrigerators, and juice dispensers. Ensure staff sweep, mop, and clean serving lines, warmers, refrigerators, beverage dispensers, and coffee machines after each meal. Monitor the serving of main course, speed line items, meats, vegetables, starches, and short-order items during daily serving hours. Assist with salad and sandwich bar preparation. Perform any other duties as assigned by leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the work where unsealed food or drink is handled, processed, prepared, or served, and touches food or food contact surfaces.

  • Assist with transporting food or food containers, engages in food preparation or service, comes in contact with food, utensils, and equipment (other than food in unbroken protective packages).

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Must provide a copy of the diploma

  • Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • Licenses/Certifications:

  • Must successfully undergo Medical Health Screening: Tuberculosis (TB), full series Hepatitis A vaccine, Typhoid, and safe food-handling training.

  • ServSafe Certification or Food Service Certification approved under ANSI-CFP accredited programs and/or approved under the Tri Service Food Code guidelines.

  • Experience:

  • Three (3) years' experience in a full-service or institutional food service environment. minimum of 1 year in Leadership.

  • Skills:

  • Self-motivated and have the ability to motivate others in physically challenging and a typical work environment·

  • Must read , write, and speak English fluently

  • Working Conditions:

  • Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).

  • Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.

  • Physical Requirements:

  • Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.

  • Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.

  • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
