Vectrus Fire Control & Optics Repairman in Kuwait
This position description is subject to change atany time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.
Under the supervision of the Armament Supervisor, performs a full rangeof field and sustainment maintenance (troubleshooting, repair, service andmaintenance) of all armament related fire control systems and optical devicesbelonging to combat vehicles, infantry and on/off carriage artillery firecontrol systems and equipment and related test equipment.
1.Performs field maintenance on laserrange finders, ballistic computers, laser observation devices, laserdesignators, thermal imaging systems, periscopes, telescopes, commander'sweapon station/auxiliary sights, aiming circles, image transfer assemblies,quadrants, mount assemblies, fire control support equipment, and test,measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE).
2.Performs battlefield damage assessmentand repair (BDAR).
3.Provides technical guidance on how todiagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions in fire control systems and relatedequipment at the field maintenance level.
4.Determines the nature and extent of repairsrequired; disassembles and examines parts and assemblies for serviceability;replaces parts and assemblies as required.
5.Determines serviceability of parts; exercisesinitiative to maintain productive progress and accepts responsibility for theresults.
6.Safely uses common hand-tools and shop equipmenteffectively without assistance.
7.Diagnoses and determines remedies for failurescommonly encountered in the repair of fire control equipment with little or nosupervision, using a variety of diagnostic techniques and practices.
8.Assists other employees in the proper repairmaintenance procedures and capabilities of related TMDE.
9.Account for benchstock items including and othersensitive items.
10.PerformsQA/QC functions such as initial, in-process and final inspections in theabsence of the Technical Inspector.
11.Maintains physical security,supply and maintenance management operations as it pertains to assignedequipment to include operator maintenance.
12.Accounts for and tracksrecoverable items to ensure compliance with Exchange Pricing (EP)/recoverableitems program.
13.Determines root causes ofnon-conformances, take corrective action and provides feedback on systemicproblems.
14.Adheres to K-BOSSS PWS andenforces standards within the work area.
15.Performs routine inspections onsafety and environmental controls and provides reports on safety, quality, and armamentrelated issues.
16.Property Custodian for Government Furnished Equipment and Army Installation property assigned to the section.
17.KeyControl Custodian for the Fire Control Shop.
18.Prepares and present/submitreports and briefings to management or for external agencies as required.
19.Performs other duties asassigned.
MATERIAL& EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:ElectronicComputers, Electronic or General Mechanic tool boxes, TM’s, laser, precisiontools, generators, power tools, overhead lifts, and military/commercialvehicles.
WORKINGENVIRONMENT: Work is generally conducted in amaintenance shop environment; however,duties may involve the conduct of work in outdoor areas with a potentialexposure to extreme climatic conditions/ambient temperatures. Work will requirelifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting and workingwith or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical,chemical or biological agents. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)is required in certain areas. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head,foot, hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices. Mustcomply with OSHA, EPA, and Fire Regulations and published company work rules.
PHYSICALACTIVITIES: Work may require lifting up to 70lbs, stooping,climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areaswhere a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical or biologicalagents.
Education/Certifications: Oneyear related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degreeis required.
Highschool graduate or equivalent; TechnicalCertification as a Fire Control Equipment Repairman (MOS 45G) or CivilianEquivalent; A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a U.S.Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License and Kuwait Driver’s License; HAZMATHandling/Transportation Training – desired; DD214required to validate prior military training.
Experience: Minimum of5 years of work related technical experience required.

5.Ability to work effectively with employees andmanagement of all levels to include multi-national staff, superiors, andranking military officers; must be knowledgeable of/possesses the ability toidentify the military rank structure.
6.Possesses ability to perform root cause analysisand prepare Corrective Actions Plans
7.Must be able to function effectively with little tono guidance.
8.Possesses excellent computerskills (MS Word, Powerpoint, Outlook and Excel).
9.Ability to handle confidential company and employeeinformation with complete discretion.
10.Abilityto identify all variants of military arms and associated equipment
11.Mustbe knowledgeable of Physical Security Requirements for AA&E IAW ARs 190-11and 190-13
12.Mustbe knowledgeable of Key and Lock Control procedures IAW AR 190-51
13.Mustbe knowledgeable of the supply control requirements of AA&E IAW AR 710-2and DA Pam 710-2-1
14.Mustpossess a High-level organizational and planning skills to ensure workflow ismanaged efficiently and accurately.
15.Mustpossess excellent knowledge of HAZMAT control measures for Tritium, DU andother environmental hazards
16.Mustpossess excellent knowledge of Laser Safety and Eye Protection measures.
17.Abilityto read, analyze, understand and interpret reports, wiring diagrams/schematicsdrawings,blueprintsand documents.
18.Knowledgeof electronic and mechanical principles and concepts; Ability to operateelectronic, electrical and mechanical test equipment.
19.Knowledgeof operation, testing and maintenance of specific types of weapons systems.
