Vectrus Audio Visual Engineer, Sr. in Marshall Islands

Overview

This position will be physically located in The Marshall Islands in support of LOGCAP

The Audio-Visual Engineer, Sr. is responsible for requirements gathering, engineering, installing, and project management of new Audio-Visual (AV), networked video, and CCTV installations. They will also perform preventative maintenance and fault repair for currently installed systems. Additionally, the Senior Audio-Visual Engineer will set up and operate Audio-Visual event operations for a variety of events. In this role, they will supervise a team of IT and AV personnel, ensuring efficient operations and successful implementation of AV solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Gather requirements and collaborate with stakeholders to understand AV needs for various projects.

  • Design, engineer, and install Audio-Visual, networked video, and CCTV systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.

  • Mentor and train technicians to enhance their technical skills and knowledge in alignment with industry standards and regulations.

  • Manage projects from inception to completion, including planning, resource allocation, scheduling, and budgeting.

  • Perform preventative maintenance and fault repair for existing AV and CCTV systems, promptly resolving technical issues to minimize downtime.

  • Design, review and interpret technical specifications, blueprints, and schematics to guide technicians during installations, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

  • Monitor project progress, identify issues or risks, and implement corrective actions as necessary to ensure project milestones are met while maintaining compliance with standards and regulations.

  • Set up and operate Audio-Visual event operations for conferences, meetings, presentations, and other events.

  • Train end-users on AV systems and provide technical support during events to ensure smooth operation.

  • Oversees the daily operations of work assignments for AV personnel.

  • Supervise a team of IT and AV personnel, providing guidance, mentoring, and performance evaluations.

  • Resolve or troubleshoot problems and/or issues which may occur with any type of installation.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, facilities, and event management, to integrate AV systems with existing infrastructure.

  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to procure AV equipment and ensure timely delivery.

  • Able to use a variety of test equipment to isolate, identify, analyze equipment issues, and take appropriate maintenance action.

  • Stay updated with emerging AV technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions and improve system performance.

  • Able to understand flow charts, equipment manuals and technical documentation.

  • Develop project plans, including work schedules, resource allocation, and equipment requirements, while considering industry standards and regulations.

  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.

  • Ensure all safety rules and regulations are followed by the team.

  • Performs other duties and assignments as required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

  • High School Diploma

  • Must meet requirements outlined in AR 25-2 for NIPRNET access

  • Must be capable of effectively communicating technical information in English, both written and verbal.

  • Must have customer service training.

  • Must be able to obtain an on post driver’s license.

  • Infocom CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D certification.

  • AMX, ACE-D, ACE-I and ACE-P preferred.

  • Extron AV Associate certification preferred.

  • Experience:

  • Two (2) years of customer service experience.

  • Three (3) or more years of experience in live event production with a specialty in one of the three major disciplines: Audio, Video or Lighting.

  • The ideal candidate will also have 2-4 years of experience in audio / visual system design, installation or programming, with knowledge and practical experience in Cisco VTC equipment and software.

  • Skills:

  • Audio/Video system design, installation, and programming:

  • Live audio, video and light mixing

  • Knowledge of power distribution

  • Soldering

  • Audio and video cable termination

  • Audio, video, and lighting system calibration

  • Excellent technical skills with electrical equipment and IT

  • Creative problem-solving ability

  • Organizational skills

  • The ability to work well as part of a team and also on your own initiative

  • The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines

  • A flexible approach for dealing with varied tasks

  • An awareness of electrical safety issues

  • Good communication and customer care skills

  • Working Conditions:

  • Must be capable of working in various weather conditions with temperatures (humidity, rain, warm, sunny)

  • The worker is subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 90 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions, such as wind and humidity.

  • The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.

  • The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.

  • Physical Requirements:

  • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects

  • Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.

  • Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.

  • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
