Vectrus FACC Dispatcher Lead in Marshall Islands

Overview

This position is physically located in the Marshall Islands in support of LOGCAP

This position is responsible to provide guidance to the Emergency Dispatchers receiving emergency information and dispatching emergency services personnel. Responsible for the communications center while on duty and will have responsibility for ensuring all, proper, notifications are made.

Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

  • Supervises the processes of the communications center.

  • Answers 911 and non-emergency phones calls via land or cell phone and processes, prioritizes emergencies.

  • Receives alarms, alerts and dispatches firefighting and/or medical crews.

  • Records data and updated relative databases and/or reports.

  • Accurately and consistently ensures the appropriate emergency apparatus is dispatched using computerized maps.

  • Receives and relays pertinent communication.

  • Supervises the FACC Dispatcher.

  • Responsible for the quality of the information collected and communicated to the First Responder.

  • Trains or oversees training of new employees

  • Develop internal Emergency Services weekly and monthly training and continuing organizational education for the work center.

  • Maintain positive and constructive written and oral communication skills at all times.

  • Provides Certification Class for new employees Emergency Medical Dispatch Provides certification class to new employees for Telecommunicators

  • Ensures Communication Center equipment is operational.

  • Provide recommendations on how to ensure the call center functions more effectively and efficiently.

  • Operate a multi-line telephone answering system and answer 911 and non-emergency phones calls via land and VoIP.

  • Monitor the Fire Alarm System for alarms, alerts and dispatches firefighting and/or medical crew.

  • Record data and updated relative databases and/or reports in the CAD system and the Emergency Reporting System.

  • Perform Emergency Dispatch duties or assignments as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: One-Year of education may be substituted for one year of experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Tele-Communicator I & II; must be Department of Defense or Pro-board certification equivalent

  • Haz-Mat Awareness certification

  • CPR / AED with First Aid certifications

  • Current Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD)

  • FEMA 100, 200, 700, 800 course certificates

  • EMD Instructor

  • Clearance:

  • Active Secret Clearance

  • Experience:

  • 15 years’ experience in as a Police or Fire and Emergency Medical Call Center, 911 Communications Center

  • Have the ability to communicate clear, concise and effective messages with a very diverse customer base.

  • Experience with Fire, Medical and/or Police emergency response required.

  • Applicant must have a demonstrated knowledge of communication center policies and procedures, a demonstrated history of leading teams as well as a thorough understanding on how to read a map of primary emergency service coverage areas.

  • Proficiency with call creation of emergency and non-emergency incidents.

  • Skills:

  • Excellent computer, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills required.

  • Computer skills include a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Leadership skills working with subordinate personnel in forming teamwork, judgment and ability to interface with a variety of customers.

  • Working Conditions:

  • None. The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work.)

  • The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard about ambient noise level.

  • Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.

  • Physical Requirements:

  • Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.

  • Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.

  • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
