Vectrus Information Technology Specialist, Sr. in Marshall Islands

Overview

This position will be physically located in The Marshall Islands in support of LOGCAP

The Information Technology Specialist is responsible for coordinating, planning and leading computer related activities within the organization. Aids in coordinating procurement of IT Hardware/Software through CHESS (Computer Hardware, Enterprise, and Software Solutions necessary to perform the work specified in the LOGCAP Task Order. Ensures all purchase activity is in compliance with CHESS standards. Ensures warranties and licenses are valid as well as ensures equipment is added into G-Army or other Army mandated system of record. Responsible for maintaining, processing, and troubleshooting military systems and operations. Will deal with highly sensitive information and will be required to have technical skills and an aptitude for programming and computer languages. They are also responsible for demonstrating exemplary management and leadership capabilities, utilizing technological skills to make the organization more efficient. The Information Technology Specialist Senior will analyze current systems, identify vulnerabilities, identify areas of improvement, and will recommend, implement solutions and upgrades. This role will interface with leadership at all levels for mission accomplishment and problem resolution.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualification: Education/Certification:

  • College degree or equivalent experience.

  • Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC).

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

  • Must hold or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.

  • Preferred:

  • Project Management Professional, Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert, Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT), Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), OGAF 9 Certification, CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security+. Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, HDI-CSR, MCSA Windows certification a plus.

  • Experience:

  • 6 + years’ experience as and IT manager or equivalent role.

  • Extensive knowledge of technical management and infrastructure support.

  • Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational and project management skills

  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service and leadership under stressful conditions

  • Strong decision-making skills

  • Knowledge of Windows 10, O365, Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Office 2013/2016 Suite, web browsers, PC hardware, PC Networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, etc.), Active

  • Directory, ticketing systems, and mobile device (iOS and Android) support.

  • Experience with installation, maintenance and operation of point to point wireless technologies and Meraki network devices.

  • Analyzing existing computer systems and making recommendations for upgrades and improvements.

  • Developing and overseeing the installation of systems, which include software and hardware.

  • Performing tests and troubleshooting, as well as quality assurance.

  • Implementing safety procedures and data recovery plans.

  • Developing user manuals, as well as policies, procedures, and safety protocols.

  • Collaborating with other departments and professionals in the development of IT systems.

  • Ensuring all installations, maintenance, and upgrades are carried out on schedule and to client specifications.

  • Delegating tasks and developing budgets and work schedules.

  • Staying up-to-date with field advancements and ensuring the team receives refresher training as well.

  • Working Conditions:

  • Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, wet, tropical environment with average temperatures of 130 degrees in the summer months).

  • Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.

  • Physical Requirements:

  • Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.

  • Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.

  • Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.

  • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
