Vectrus Armament Specialist in Philippines

Overview

This position will be physically located in the Philippines in support of LOGCAP

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, performs a full range of work involved in troubleshooting, repair, service and maintenance of armament systems such as small arms and towed artillery. Oversees personnel engaged in weapon systems, fire control and optical systems, Tube-launched, optically tracked, Wire-guided (TOW) systems, Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS)/High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) maintenance. Performs/oversees physical security, key and lock control, safety and environmental control duties.

Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

  • Manages billeting staff and lodging, ensuring the highest quality of living-quarters maintenance, upkeep, customer service, and adherence to standards at multiple Life Support Areas (LSA).

  • Primary POC between customer and Vectrus to determine customer’s billeting needs and priorities, communicates protocol to staff regarding customer lodging assignments, and resolves issues.

  • Oversees personnel engaged in Field and Sustainment Level maintenance of Armament and TOW Missile Systems

  • Determines the nature and extent of repairs required; disassembles and examines parts and assemblies for serviceability; replaces parts and assemblies as required.

  • Repairs, replaces, and/or modifies components of small arms and artillery equipment.

  • Determines serviceability of parts; exercises initiative to maintain productive progress and accepts responsibility for the results.

  • Safely uses common hand-tools and shop equipment effectively without assistance.

  • Diagnoses and determines remedies for failures commonly encountered in the repair of tow artillery or small arms weapons, with little or no supervision, using a variety of diagnostic techniques and practices.

  • Assists other employees in the proper repair maintenance procedures and capabilities of small arms and tow artillery maintenance and related TMDE.

  • Account for bench stock items including Small Arms Repair Parts (SARP) and other sensitive items.

  • Performs QA/QC functions such as initial, in-process and final inspections in the absence of the Technical Inspector.

  • Maintains physical security, supply and maintenance management operations as it pertains to assigned equipment to include operator maintenance.

  • Accounts for and tracks recoverable items to ensure compliance with Exchange Pricing (EP)/recoverable items program.

  • Determines root causes of non-conformances, take corrective action and provides feedback on systemic problems.

  • Performs routine inspections on safety and environmental controls and provides reports on safety, quality, and armament related issues.

  • Property Custodian for Government Furnished Equipment and Army Installation property assigned to the section.

  • Key Control Custodian for the Armament Maintenance Shops.

  • Prepares and present/submit reports and briefings to management or for external agencies as required.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

  • High school graduate or equivalent

  • Technical Certification in Military Armament Systems Maintenance (Small Arms, Artillery, Fire Control, TOW systems etc.) or Civilian Equivalent.

  • A valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator’s License andPhilippines Driver’s License.

  • HAZMAT Handling/Transportation Training – desired

  • DD214 required to validate prior military training.

  • Ability to obtain host nation driver license.

  • Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of work-related technical experience

  • At least two years supervisory responsibility.

  • Skills:

  • Ability to communicate proficiently in English, both verbally and written.

  • Possesses thorough knowledge of Armament Systems maintenance.

  • Possesses in-depth knowledge of The Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS).

  • Must have effective communication, customer service, interpersonal, leadership and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with employees and management of all levels to include multi-national staff, superiors, and ranking military officers.

  • Must be able to work with people of diverse background.

  • Must be knowledgeable of/possesses the ability to identify the military rank structure.

  • Possesses ability to perform root cause analysis and prepare Corrective Actions Plans

  • Must be able to function effectively with little to no guidance.

  • Possesses excellent computer skills (MS Word, Powerpoint, Outlook and Excel).

  • Ability to handle confidential company and employee information with complete discretion.

  • Ability to identify all variants of military arms and associated equipment

  • Must be knowledgeable of Physical Security Requirements for AA&E IAW ARs 190-11 and 190-13

  • Must be knowledgeable of Key and Lock Control procedures IAW AR 190-51

  • Must be knowledgeable of the supply control requirements of AA&E IAW AR 710-2 and DA Pam 710-2-1

  • Must possess a High-level organizational and planning skills to ensure workflow is managed efficiently and accurately.

  • Must possess excellent knowledge of HAZMAT control measures for Tritium, DU and other environmental hazards

  • Ability to read, analyze, understand and interpret reports, wiring diagrams/schematics drawings, blueprints and documents.

  • Knowledge of electronic and mechanical principles and concepts.

  • Ability to operate electronic, electrical and mechanical test equipment.

  • Knowledge of operation, testing and maintenance of specific types of weapons systems.

  • Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Must have the ability to work effectively with all levels of employees, including top, middle and supervisory levels of management.

  • Requires a collaborative work style, fostering cooperation and teamwork.

  • Working Conditions:

  • Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse nd harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months). Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.

  • Physical Requirements:

  • Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 30 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.

  • Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.

  • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies
