Vectrus Technical Inspector in Philippines

Overview

This position is physically located in the Philippines in support of LOGCAP

Under the supervision of Maintenance Supervisor, performs initial, in-progress and final inspections on various types of military, commercial, and other forms of Utilities and Special Purpose equipment, Power-Generation equipment, Quartermaster and Chemical equipment, and Construction equipment. Makes proper classification determinations as it pertains to U.S. Government property. Assists Shops as needed with Troubleshooting processes. Uses proper Test Measurement and Diagnostics Equipment (TMDE) in the daily operations phase. Test and Troubleshoot all forms of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) Systems. Conduct Actual Cost of Damages (ACOD), Estimated Cost of Damages (ECOD), Estimated Cost of Repairs (ECOR) and Estimated Cost of Fabrication (ECOF). Conduct Tests on Serviced, Repaired and Overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency before returning to customer. Understands the automotive repair shop equipment and functions in order to provide assistance and coverage whenever needed. Perform technical research and ensure operational readiness of assigned equipment. 8+ years experience performing maintenance services and overhaul of Combat Tactical Engineering, Power Generation and Ancillary Support equipment at the Mechanic or Inspector level.

Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

  • Perform initial, in-progress, classification and final inspections and input into GCSS-Army.

  • Operate and inspect equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot defects.

  • Use technical manuals, bulletins and written directives in the performance of all inspections.

  • Examine parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges.

  • Order required repair parts using appropriate parts manuals and input into GCSS-Army.

  • Conducts Tests on Equipment that has been Serviced, Repaired and Overhauled to insure operating efficiency before returning to customer.

  • Perform ECOD and ACOD inspections and verify condition codes.

  • Must be capable of giving and receiving instructions to all of the work force in the Shops.

  • Ability to Inspect Check and Test all types of HVAC System being Work Ordered to the Shop

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Perform testing and certification of equipment and material during Load Testing Process

  • Perform PDQR process when receiving improper or damaged repair parts.

Qualifications

  • Education/Certifications:

  • One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Must provide a copy of the diploma.

  • Formal training (completion of MOS 91C, D, J or L course conducted under the auspices of the USA Ordnance School) is mandatory or meet verifiable civilian acquired skills criteria.

  • HVAC Technician Certification or have completed the Residential and Light Commercial Industry Competency Exams (ICE) and the EPA 608 (Type 1 and 2) & 609 certifications. Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications in the automotive maintenance area preferred.

  • Must be able to obtain host country Heavy Drivers License.

  • Must be CAC eligible and/or able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • A valid Driver’s License is required for all Labor Categories in the Philippines.

  • Experience:

  • Minimum of six years continuous experience performing maintenance services and over haul of Combat Tactical Engineering and power Generation and Ancillary Support equipment at the Mechanic or Inspector level.

  • Skills:

  • Must possess the technical skills to identify different repair requirements as it pertains to Engineer Equipment.

  • Must have expert knowledge of Technical and Commercial manuals for Servicing, Operational and Repair so that the correct procedures are used on the proper equipment.

  • Must be an expert in Corrective Actions performed by the Maintenance Teams and only ensure that his equipment is FMC when cleared by the shops.

  • Must have the ability to troubleshoot, Service and Repair HVAC Systems work ordered by the customers.

  • Must have full knowledge of TMDE and its proper usage.

  • Must be proficient in how the repair parts system works and what to do when it doesn’t work correctly.

  • Must be proficient in all phases of the paperwork that pertains to the Services, maintenance, repairs, classification and etc.

  • Must have expert knowledge of the maintenance prints so as to be able to establish workload priority.

  • Must have expert knowledge of Load Test procedures and processes.

  • Must have expert knowledge of equipment operations as it is critical to working as a master driver for that shop.

  • Working Conditions:

  • Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).

  • Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.

  • Physical Requirements:

  • Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.

  • Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.

  • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
