Vectrus Interpreter in Poland
Overview
This position is physically located in Poland
The overall purpose of this position is to provide interpretation services between military units being trained and US personnel conducting the training.
Responsibilities
This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.
Provide interpretation and translation from language spoken in Ukraine to English
Must be able to understand dialect and translate “mood” based on voice inflection, facial expression, and body language.
May be required to translate written language.
Provide accurate concepts and explanations with no additions or omissions, and according to conventions of established interpretation protocol.
Identify any factors that hinder performance as an Interpreter, and swiftly report these to relevant parties.
Providing interpretations of questions, answers, statements, arguments, explanations, and other forms of verbal communication.
Imparting thought, purpose, spirit, emotions and tone of speakers from source language into target language.
Rendering sight translations of documents and other written materials.
Completion of daily activity logs and other documentation.
Complying with applicable ethics and standards.
Performs Job Duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: Two years related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
College degree preferred/High School diploma required.
Experience:
Must demonstrate a high degree of English comprehension, including speaking, understanding, reading, writing, and typing.
Must have experience dealing with foreign officials and be able to interface at the executive level
Skills:
Must be proficient in using Microsoft Office software.
Interpersonal and communication skills are requirements of this position as there is constant interaction with military personnel.
Accustomed to dealing at executive level. Prior military experience is a plus but not mandatory.
Work environment is often fast paced.
Other Requirements:
This position requires flexibility in work hours. Work week and hours will be determined by the Site Supervisor. Must be on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
