Vectrus Systems Engineer II / Directory Services in Wichita, Kansas

Provide support for management of devices as required for specific platforms and enterprise applications. Administer the functions and capabilities of the devices and provide as applicable, but not limited to, wing level infrastructures, application configurations, permissions management, and data structure management.

Provide on-call remote support in a 24/7/365 Network Operations Center servicing more than 105,000 Guard member and civilians in more than 90 flying wings and 150 geographically separated units throughout the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated experience in the provision of IT network operations, maintenance, security, and support in a nature similar in size and scope.

  • Experience should include the provision of IT network and operations support services in an austere (developing country) field-based environment, preferably in humanitarian assistance situations and/or during civilian-based disaster response situations.

  • Demonstrated experience managing the contractor’s proposed methodologies and standards as they pertain to the provision of IT network operations, maintenance, and security.

  • Training and demonstrated experience in civilian-based field operations, particularly as it pertains to safety and security

  • Provide technical expertise to manage the Enterprise Directory Services to include, the Active Directory (AD) architect, Domain Controller (DC) management, and Enterprise Application (EA) servers.

  • Administer, troubleshoot, and maintain the Active Directory forest which includes management of: Directory and Global Catalog, Organizational Units, Group Policies, Windows Internet Name Service (WINS), and Domain Name Service (DNS).

  • Participate in planning, exercise, and implementation disaster recovery procedures in accordance with (IAW) direction of ANG NOS leadership.

  • Support the Government’s implementation and directives for Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) authentication scheme.

  • Operate and maintain all ANG enterprise DCs, regardless of location, to ensure proper replication is occurring as well as availability of all services to include DNS.

  • Understanding of Air Force and ANG network systems and processes.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a related technical field preferred.

  • Minimum of three (3) years work related professional IT experience commensurate with tasks outlined in this service area preferred.

  • Current Security+ CE or CISSP Certification.

  • Current Microsoft Azure Administrator Certification.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with Active DoD Secret level (or higher) Security Clearance.

    Experience:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS and PKI services to include NIPRNet, CAC, and SIPRNet.

  • Token authentication (preferred).

  • Comprehensive knowledge maintaining Microsoft Windows 2012 / 2016 (preferred).

  • Knowledge of IT governance and operations.

  • Knowledge Routing and Networking Protocols.

  • Familiarity implementing DISA STIGs.

    Skills:

  • Understanding of NIPRNET and SIPRNET enclaves, functions, and standards (preferred).

  • Knowledge of computer system and network infrastructure operations (preferred).

  • Understanding and application of Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) (preferred).

  • Ability to determine how IT systems should function and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes (preferred).

  • Knowledge and experience installing equipment, machines, wiring, or programs to meet specifications (preferred).

  • Ability to analyze workflow, establish priorities, and comply with standards to meet operational deadlines (preferred).

  • Ability to configure & troubleshoot current Air Force Microsoft Active Directory domains (preferred).

  • Ability to configure & troubleshoot Group Policy (preferred).

  • Ability to configure & troubleshoot user / computer account issues (preferred).

  • Ability to troubleshoot Kerberos authentication issues (preferred).

  • Ability to take direction and operate without direct supervision to complete tasks.

  • Ability to monitor systems and understand status updates.

  • Ability to work in and enter tickets in Remedy ticketing systems.

  • Ability to deal with customers that may not be network savvy.

  • Start a project and follow it through to completion with minimal guidance.

  • Create and complete detailed documentation and be able to explain what was completed and how.
